Founded in 1978, the WFDSA is a non-governmental, voluntary organization globally representing the direct selling industry as a federation of national Direct Selling Associations. The WFDSA mission is to build understanding and support for direct selling worldwide. The Federation pursues the highest level of ethical conduct in the global marketplace, fosters advocacy by partnering with government, consumer and academic leaders, and strengthens management of national and regional Direct Selling Associations. Our membership consists of more than 58 national direct selling associations and one regional Federation, with one delegate from each association, as well as a number of regional and global officers, serving as the Board of Directors.
The French Direct Selling Association (FVD) was created in 1966 under the French legal regime governing trade associations. The FVD represents the entire direct selling industry in the country and groups over 80% of national, international and European direct selling companies operating in France. In 2013, the FVD received the Management Action Reward from the French Employers’ association MEDEF and in 2014, it was granted the Platinum Standard by the WFDSA that acknowledged the association’s numerous actions undertaken to enhance the socio-economic benefits of the direct selling sector in France and at international level.
Seldia is the European Direct Selling Association. It was established in 1968 and represents the Direct Selling industry in Europe. Seldia’s mission is to promote direct selling towards the EU institutions and to ensure that EU and national policy makers in Europe are aware of the industry’s benefits and advantages, as well as its contribution to national economies. Seldia membership includes 28 national Direct Selling Associations and 19 Corporate Member companies.
